Part 4: Plasma TV and Radio interference

Plasma Television and Radio interference on the HF bands:
This short video shows the radio interference on the HF 20 meter band
by a Samsung Plasma Television type: PS50C550.

The receiver is a Kenwood R5000 and the receiving frequency is 14.209.70 MHz in AM modulation.
Recorded on a Sony TC-D5M HiFi Portable Cassette recorder.

The background noise is about S1 on that frequency but after the TV is turned on it is S7 up to S9+!
On the lower bands the interference increases on 1650 KHz to S9 +60dB.

(Note: The RF ATT is on -20 dB and it is still S7 on the S-Meter)

Deze korte video laat de radio-storing op de 20 meter radio amateur band zien, veroorzaakt door een Samsung Plasma TV type: PS50C550.
De ontvanger is een Kenwood R5000 en de ontvangende frequentie 14.209.70 MHz in AM modulatie.
Het geluid is opgenomen op een Sony TC-D5M HiFi Portable Cassette recorder.
Het achtergrondruis is ongeveer S1 op die frequentie, maar nadat de TV wordt ingeschakeld is het S7 oplopend tot S9! Op de lagere banden neemt de storing toe, met op 1650 KHz S9 +60dB.
